Just because...

the cream puffs were uncanny,

we created minature versions of the popular french pastry Chocolate Eclairs.

Made from freshly baked choux (pronounced as 'shoo') pastry, with homemade chocolate pastry cream piped into its hollow innards. These minis are well suited for the peckish or just people who have the weakness for the textures soft, creamy and absolutely chocolatey. Any takers?

So that's our test kitchen experiment of the day! Christmas looms ahead and with many dinner and lunch parties install,we'll be absent for a while. Drop by our test kitchen for more exciting mess ups soon!

Mini Blueberry Cheesecakes

Don't be fooled by these bite sized mini cheesecakes. Intoxicantly rich and addictive, we fear for our own waistlines.

We have just one question. Strawberry or blueberry toppings?

Another one of our staples and best sellers. This is for the pistachio nut lovers out there. The Chocolate Pistachio Tartlets is made of a crunchy pistachio nut tart crust filled with gloriously rich chocolate ganache and finally spotted with a roasted nut just to make your folks happy!

Brownies that are as cute as buttons. Topped with a gorgeous coat of chocolate and a sprinkling of glitzy gold dragees.

You will come to love them

These are quiet puppies. They don't say a word, nor bark at you as you reach out for your coffee mug. All they do is look up and smile at your with those docile pair of eyes.

Face Malteser Cookies. A buttery malt cookie encasing a hidden malteser within and decorated with chocolate rice, chip and chocolate cereal.

A few of my favourite things

Inspired by 'the younger years', a creation from the desserts maestro Adriano Zumbo, a new mini was born today.

A diamond in the rough, the final product still needs a little work.. and an out of this world name to follow. Help.. somebody? anybody?

We ended of the miniature cupcake with a dallop of addictive peanut butter frosting (chunky of course!) and a drizzle of rich guzzling chocolate. A combination of everything I liked as a child, peanut butter and jam on toast for breakfast with a swab of nutella on indulgent days. All these condensed into a tiny mouthful of creamy gratification.

Walking on the wild side

Our need for variation from our popular green tea flavored macaron saw us visiting some pretty wacky flavors. Presenting to you our Saffron and Pistachio Macaron with an intense burst of sunshine color evolved from the inclusion of Iranian saffron strands. Finished off with pistachio buttercream, this baby is the pride and joy of all local spices.

Our next contender in the line of macarons is our Black Sesame Macaron. A chewy pale grey shell with generous scatter of black grounded black sesame seeds within. One bite will reveal a smooth white sesame flavored buttercream.

Last but not least, Lemons for everyone! Lemon Meringue Tartlets composed of a rich buttery sable dough encasing luscious homemade lemon curd and then crowned with toasted Italian meringue.
